Jan Butler, SLP, CCC is the founder and president of Victory Speech Therapy and Autism Consulting, LLC. She has been working as a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 26 years. As a mom of three adult children, Jan understands the challenges and struggles of raising children, especially when they need extra help.
Two of her children have ADD, one of whom also has Asperger’s Syndrome. Another child had a severe speech impediment when younger. It was during her own quest to help her child with autism that she became fascinated by the area of autism. She found that through her professional training as a Speech-Language Pathologist, continued training in the field of autism, and successes and struggles as a parent, she has a unique perspective to assist other parents in helping their own children as well.
Over the past 26 years, her professional experience includes nursing homes, private practice, a speech-language-hearing clinic, and both public and private schools. Prior to starting Victory Speech Therapy and Autism Consulting LLC, Jan helped establish and worked in a school for autistic children through the St. Louis Archdiocese.
Jan received a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Purdue University. Through Project ACCESS, additional training as an In-District Autism Consultant was obtained as well as completion of training courses on Sensorimotor Integration and the Child with Autism, along with Working with Autistic Students in the Schools.
She currently holds an ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) Certificate of Clinical Competence as well as her Missouri State license.
She has also presented multiple workshops at the
Greater St. Louis Area Home Educators Expo.
