My name is Jan Butler. I am the founder and president of Victory Speech therapy and Autism Consulting. I have been working as a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 20 years. As a mom of three adult children, I understand the challenges and struggles of raising children, especially when they need extra help. Two of my children have ADD, one of whom also has Asperger’s Syndrome. Another one of my children had a severe speech impediment when younger. It was during my own quest to help my child with autism that I became fascinated by the area of autism. I find that through my professional training as a Speech-Language Pathologist, my continued training in the field of autism, and my successes and struggles as a parent, I have a unique perspective to assist other parents in helping their own children as well.
Over the past 20 years, my professional experience includes nursing homes, private practice, a speech-language-hearing clinic, and both public and private schools. Most recently, I helped establish and work in a school for autistic children through the St. Louis Archdiocese.
I received my Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Purdue University. Additional training as an In-District Autism Consultant was obtained through Project ACCESS. I currently hold my ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) Certificate of Clinical Competence as well as my license from the State of Missouri.
